Biographies
Charles was convicted at Wiltshire of Robbery at his trial 5. 4. 1840 - it says he was born about 1809 but no definite birth found. He was sentanced to 15 years and transported on ship Lord Lyddoch which had been built at Calcutta in 1815 - of 638 tons. It sailed from Plymouth on 7. 9. 1840 with 314 males under Captain John Humble and surgeon Thomas W. McDonald. Arrived Tasmania 5. 2. 1841.
He was assigned to the Browns River party in 1841, and to Mr Bortham of Crossmark ? in 1846, given his ticket of leave in 1849.
