Biographies

David Leamey, born 1811 in Tipperary, Ireland, was the son of Thomas Leamey and Ellen Burke.
He was tried in 1827 for robbery of a dwelling house, along with his brother Thomas, and was transported to Australia in the following year. His trade was listed as a butcher's boy.
After serving a seven year sentence, David obtained his certificated of freedom in 1834.
David married Theresa Ann Kinkade in 1852 in Adelaide, South Australia. They spent several years on the Victorian goldfields and eventually settled in Mount Gambier, South Australia, where he worked as a carpenter.
David died on the 10th of January 1868.
