Thomas partnered Bernard Reynolds (Bardaster 1836) in murder and were two members of "Scotties" gang of bushrangers around Yass area.

Thomas and Bernard Reynolds (Bardaster) were convicted on 24 February 1840 of murder John Hume on 19 January 1840 and another and sentenced to death.

Thomas was convicted at Lancaster Quarter Sessions on 19 July 1830 and sentenced to life transportation, he arrived Sydney aboard Exmouth on 28 July 1831.
