COALS BACK OF HANDS, BLUE SCAR ON RIGHT SHIN.. NO TICKET OF LEAVE, NO CONDITIONAL PARDON. HE APPLIED IN 1839 FOR HIS FAMILY TO JOIN HIM IN AUST. WIFE MARY CAME ON A FREE PASSAGE WITH HER CHILDREN, LAURENCE 24, THOMAS 20, MICHAEL 16, JULIA 13, KITTY 11, RICHARD 8. MARY WAS 47. A D.I.L. ELENOR, WIFE OF A DECEASED SON, JUDE, AGED 24, CAME ALSO. THEY ARRIVED ON THE "MINERVA 2" ON 26.12.1839 which sailed from Dublin. THE BOYS OF THE FAMILY ARRIVED ON "NAUTILUS" (ship was
a "smack" owned by Thomas Russell) ON 9.2.1840 (sailed from Dublin (Co. Down) 17.9.1839 AS THE MINERVA WAS STRICTLY A FEMALE CONVICT SHIP.
THEY SETTLED AT "THERESA PARK" NR. CAMDEN. 1841: Living Camden Way.
