Biographies
John together with Edward Scare (Admiral Gambier 1811) and Herbert Stiles or Styles (Eagle 1811) and Joseph Burridge (General Hewitt 1814) committed piracy on 7 April1814 by taking control of schooner "Speedwell" at Newcastle and escaping Colony. They have not been seen subsequently.

John was convicted at Surrey Assizes on 28 March 1810 and sentenced to life transportation, he arrived Sydney aboard Indian on 16 December 1810
