Biographies
James Davis (Waterloo 1838), Alexander Telford (Warrior 1831) & Archibald Taylor (Lady Nugent 1835) were bushrangers and terrorising people in the Maitland area till their activities reached a point when Davis shot and murdered John Maher( a dray driver) on 19 July 1839.
All three faced trial on 7 November 1839 at Supreme Court charged with bush ranging also Davis with murder and Telford, Taylor as being accessories to murder.
All three were convicted sentenced to death and hanged on 29 November 1839 in Sydney NSW.
