Biographies
Frederick WARD was born in Bungay, county Suffolk, England around 1821; he was the illegitimate son of my four times great-grandmother. Frederick was baptised at St Mary's Church in Bungay. He appeared on the 1841 census as living with his mother Mary Ward in Bull Street, Bungay aged 15. He would have actually been closer to the age of 20.
Frederick Ward was convicted on 3 separate occasions at the Beccles Quarter Sessions for crimes of Larceny. His final crime was for stealing meat (cows flesh) from James Skippon of Bungay, and for this he was sentenced to 7 years transportation. His fate was sealed.
In 1844 Frederick was sent to Millbank Prison in London to await Transportation in 1847 to Victoria, Australia. He would never see his mother Mary Ward, nor his two brothers Henry Ward (my three times great grandfather) and William Ward, ever again.

I have yet to trace his whereabouts once he arrived in Australia. I hope to be able to locate him and know if he ever married and when/where he died.
