AUTHOR EVENT

Get in the spirit for Australia Day at Hawkesbury Library and hear about the rambunctious history of Australian bushranger Captain Thunderbolt.  Author Carol Baxter will visit to discuss her latest book Captain Thunderbolt and his Lady: the true story of bushrangers Frederick Ward and Mary Ann Bugg. He was the gentleman bushranger …she was the woman who rode with him. On Tuesday 24 January 2012 ~ 6pm. This event is free but bookings required, phone 4560 4460.  

FAMILY HISTORY CLASSES

Family history classes will start again in 2012 at the Hawkesbury Central Library. Classes are from 6.30pm-8.30pm. Bookings please phone 4560 4460 or email history@hawkesbury.nsw.gov.au

    FAMILY HISTORY – LETS START AT THE VERY BEGINNING

An introductory session aimed at beginners discussing resources and how to research your family history. This will be followed by 3 sessions concentrating on resources associated with births, marriages and deaths. With Michelle Nichols, Local Studies Librarian at Hawkesbury Library. FREE ~ Bookings essential

    FAMILY HISTORY RESOURCES RELATING TO BIRTHS

Session concentrating on resources relating to births for Family history researchers. Sessions associated with marriages and deaths will follow in March-April. With Michelle Nichols, Local Studies Librarian at Hawkesbury Library. $10 ~ Bookings essential

WYONG HISTORICAL SOCIETY FIRE

Wyong Historical Society headquarters was destroyed on Saturday 3 December in a fire. Wyong's Alison homestead was destroyed by Arson and very little has survived the intense fire to the Weatherboard buildings. Documents, photographs and realia are all gone.
