AUTHOR EVENTGet in the spirit for Australia Day at Hawkesbury Library and hear about the rambunctious history of Australian bushranger Captain Thunderbolt. Author Carol Baxter will visit to discuss her latest book Captain Thunderbolt and his Lady: the true story of bushrangers Frederick Ward and Mary Ann Bugg. He was the gentleman bushranger …she was the woman who rode with him. On Tuesday 24 January 2012 ~ 6pm. This event is free but bookings required, phone 4560 4460. FAMILY HISTORY CLASSESFamily history classes will start again in 2012 at the Hawkesbury Central Library. Classes are from 6.30pm-8.30pm. WYONG HISTORICAL SOCIETY FIRE Wyong Historical Society headquarters was destroyed on Saturday 3 December in a fire. Wyong's Alison homestead was destroyed by Arson and very little has survived the intense fire to the Weatherboard buildings. Documents, photographs and realia are all gone.
