Biographies
Edward Penry and John Morgan were a pair of footpads who had stopped William Jedkins on the highway and robbed him of his hat, his handkerchief and 19s 6d in cash (Approx. 97p). In August 1802 they were sentenced to death at Hereford Assizes but the sentence was commuted and the following year, in November, sailed away to a life in Australia aboard the 'Coromandel I, under the masters John Robinson and G. Blakey, arriving on 7th May 1804.
