Born 27th November 1819, Wisbech, Cambridgeshire, England. His parents were Thomas Rowe (1787-1876) and Ann Vines (1784-1846).

23rd July 1836 sentenced at Devon assizes to life transportation in australia (cannot find record of why). Aged 16.

Married Elizabeth booth Mawson on 27th March 1853 in Darling Downs, Queensland, Australia. They had four sons throughout their marriage, Henry Thomas, William Gilbert Frederick Charles&Arthur Fletcher
