Biographies

Jonas Rawlings is my 3 X great grandfather, he is the son of Daniel Rawlings and Ann Cox. He was born in Cold Ashton, Gloucestershire, England around 1805. He was married to Hannah Rawlings on 16 April 1828 in Cold Ashton (I am not sure if they were related I am still trying to find out) and he had two living children when he was transported in 1835, Frederick b.1831 and Rebecca b.1834. The crime he committed was receiving a stolen ewe from his brother Joseph Rawlings (also transported). He died in Horton, Tasmania in 1842, never seeing his wife and children again.
