Biographies

Hamlet Pollitt (also known as Samuel Pollard) was born on 12 October 1806 in Carrington, Cheshire, England.
In 1834, Hamlett was sentenced to death for house burglary but given to option of a 'Life' sentence and transported to Botany Bay for the term of his natural life.
He arrived in the colony on 9 April 1835 aboard the 'Lady Nugent'. And he eventually received his Ticket of Leave in 1843.
He married Catherine Maguire (also known as Catherine Britton or McGarry)
