Biographies
Mary Killeher (Kelleher) was born in Cork in 1792, her parents were Tino and Maryann(Murphy), she married William Kelleher in 1814 and her daughter Catherine was born in 1815. Mary was convicted in 1816 for house robbery and was transported to Australia on the Canada 4 arriving on August 5th 1817, her 2 year old daughter Catherine accompanied her. Mary was one of several convict who gave up their beef rations on the trip, and petitioned the Governor after arriving because they believed they had not been compensated adequately. They were awarded one pound, five shillings, seven pence and a halfpenny. Mary married Samuel Higgins on 26th October 1820 in St John's Church, Parramatta, in 1822 John was sent to Port MacQuarie for 3 years, Mary petitioned to follow him and travelled on the Mermaid, but soon returns to Sydney. in 1823 her son John Higgins was born. On July 24th 1824 Mary was in Parramatta court charged with stealing pork from Andrew Nash, dismissed from lack of evidence. On 24th August 1826 Mary marries Vardy Sheehan in Windsor and is living in Cornwallis, her son Thomas is born in 1826, daughter Bridget in 1828 and another son Michael in 1830. There is a record of another marriage to Vardy in 1834. Mary died on 8th April 1839 and is buried in Windsor
