Biographies

Ellen was tried under her own name(Flynn)about 1 year before this charge.Second offence under her mother's name.Transported.From what I gather she had a brother Patrick-who was a Street Fighter(seconded).Charged with the death of a man (not guilty of)sent to Tasmania. In 1837 just before her release (3 months)she escaped, recaptured.Got her cert. of freedom 1838.Lived off and on with a butcher(William Cain)in Sydney. Then with James/Robert Cain in a boarding house run by a drunk. The man died, left the boarding house to them(very iffy?)no charges brought against them.Around 1841-3 went to Brisbane Waters as a Sawyer, she HouseKeeper.1852 went to Wellington? Why?They had John Cain then came back to Newcastle in 1854, Registered John in Raymond Terrace.1869 they were living at Winding Creek(Cardiff) where her daughter Jane had illegitimate twins-Robert and Ellen.Ellen died but Robert was passed out??Can't find him.In 1870's her son Patrick was pulled before the Police charged with horse stealing at Lambton.Found not guilty,(Maitland Court).1883 Ellen died of cancer at Hillsborough(near Cardiff)James died 1879 Hillsborough bush-working, log fell on him and killed him.
