Tried: Edinburgh 1808 Sentence: 7 years for stealing some washing.

Grizel was pregnant on the voyage of the Friends and gave birth to her son John shortly after her arrival in Sydney. The father was a soldier by the name of Adam Eddington.

She did not marry John Mcfarlane, but partnered with him soon after her arrival.
Like many women convicts this was a common practice for protection.
She had Two children by John:
Jane McFarlane (1813-1871}
Daniel McFarlane (1815-1896)

She later left John McFarlane and married James Watson.
She had three children by James:
John F Watson (1822-1843)
Mary Watson (1823-1840)
Martha Watson (1825-1896)
