Biographies

c1807. Born in Hampshire, England.

4 Aug 1828. Tried for larceny from a person (picking pockets) at Summer Assizes, Lewes, Sussex. Sentenced to death for stealing a silk handkerchief, value 2 shillings, from William Foster.

30 Aug 1828. Transferred from Sussex Prison to the Prison Hulk, York, moored in Portsmouth Harbour.

5 Jan 1829. Departed England aboard convict ship, Lord Melville II (1)

6 May 1829. Arrived in Port Jackson, NSW.

Feb 1838. Granted Ticket of Leave, under condition that he had to remain in the Windsor District, where he had been assigned.

1 July 1846. Granted Conditional Pardon. The condition was that he could not go outside of the Australian colonies or New Zealand.

20 Dec 1849. Married Eliza McBride at Windsor, NSW.
