Biographies

Catherine Barry was tried and convicted at Co Cork Assizes Court 16 May 1792 for robbery valued at 3 pounds & sixteen shillings from one Bartholomew Holland and was sentenced to 7 years transportation. She arrived at Port Jackson NSW on 17 September 1793 per 'Sugar Cane' that sailed from Co Cork Ireland 12 April 1793. She was born about 1762 in Co Cork (aged 30 years in 1792) her parents were Michael Barry & Catherine McCarthy. She married Patrick Dunn (known as James Dunn) (c1771-1837) (convict 'Royal Admiral' 1792)and had one son. She died 3 September 1846 Kingston NSW.
