Richard was convicted at Cadiz Court Martial 22 May 1810 and sentenced to 14 years transportation, he arrived Sydney aboard Guildford 18 January 1812

Richard was transferred to Tasmania aboard Ruby on 19 February 1812 just weeks after his arrival in Sydney.

Richard McGuire & Hugh Burne (Guildford) were last two of a gang of bushrangers convicted by Court Martial Aug 1815 and sentenced to death.
