Biographies

Born 1772 to Samuel Daw and Ann Biggin at Castle Cary, Somerset, England. Christened 20 September 1722 at All Saint's Church, Castle Cary.

Samuel married Hannah Baunton on 17 April 1798 at St. Thomas a Becket Church in South Cadbury, Somerset. Samuel and Hannah had five children - four sons and one daughter.

In 1817, Samuel was charged with theft of woolen and linen draperies and sentenced to 7 years transportation. Shortly after completing his sentence, Samuel's wife Hannah passed away back in England.

Samuel remained in New South Wales, free, and remarried fellow freed convict, Rosetta Warburton on 31 Jan 1839 in Windsor, New South Wales, Australia.
