Mathew was born about 1801 Wicklow County Ireland and convicted at Dublin Ireland in 1822 and sentenced to 7 years transportation

Mathew and James Reynolds were convicted on 21 September 1833 of murder Patrick Sullivan ( a convict overseer) on 17 July 1833 and sentenced to death.
