Biographies
Edward together with Herbert Stiles or Styles (Eagle 1811) and Joseph Burridge (General Hewitt 1814) and John Pearce (Indian 1810) committed piracy on 7 April 1814 by taking control of schooner "Speedwell" at Newcastle and escaping Colony. They have not been seen subsequently.

Edward was convicted at Cambridge Assizes on 13 March 1810 and sentenced to life transportation,

Edward arrived Sydney aboard Admiral Gambier & Friends on 29 September 1811; an alias is evidenced "Scarr".

Edward was transferred to Newcastle aboard "Estramina" on 14 March 1812 and is later noted as escaping on 7 May 1814 with three other convicts
