Biographies
Joseph together with John Pearce (Indian 1810) and Edward Scare (Admiral Gambier 1811) and Herbert Stiles of Styles (Eagle 1811) committed piracy on 7 April 1814 by taking control of schooner "Speedwell" at Newcastle and escaping Colony. Hey have not been seen subsequently

Joseph was born about 1791 Kent and was convicted at Southampton Assizes of felony on 1 March 1813 and sentenced to 14 years transportation

Joseph arrived Sydney aged about 22! aboard General Hewitt on 7 February 1814.

Joseph occupation is noted "Royal Navy" at time of him being noted runaway.

Joseph was transferred to Newcastle aboard "Mary" on 10 March 1814 and later noted as escaped on 7 May 1814 with three others.
