Biographies

Joseph together with John Pearce (Indian 1810) and Edward Scare (Admiral Gambier 1811) and Herbert Stiles of Styles (Eagle 1811) committed piracy on 7 April 1814 by taking control of schooner "Speedwell" at Newcastle and escaping Colony. Joseph was born about 1791 Kent and was convicted at Southampton Assizes of felony on 1 March 1813 and sentenced to 14 years transportation
