Michael was convicted at Central Criminal Court ion 2 March 1840 and sentenced to 15 years transportation, he arrived Tasmania aboard  Asia on 21 August 1841

Michael was convicted on 1 September 1846 at Hobart of highway robbery of Mr Boyle at Port Arthur and sentenced to death.

Michael Roach was hanged on 26 September 1846 at Hobart Gaol Tasmania.
