Stephen was convicted at Gloucester Assizes about 1820 and entrenched to life transportation, he arrived Tasmania aboard Maria on 1 December 1820

Stephen Lear and Henry Fry (Medway 1821) were convicted in February 1825 of burglary and sentenced to death.
