William arrived Sydney aboard Westmoreland on 15 July 1835. Note: an Australian nickname "Bumblefoot" is evidenced within newspapers of the day.

William was convicted in Aug1838 of murdering John Swan on 13 Jun1838 at Port Macquarie and sentenced to death.
