Thomas was convicted at Bristol Quarter Sessions about 1817 and entente to 7 years transportation, he arrived Sydney aboard Lord Eldon on 30 September 1817 with an alias "Child" noted.

It is not known how Thomas arrived Tasmania however Thomas was convicted on 16 June 1827 of forge "Bill of Exchange" in August 1824 and sentenced to death.

Thomas was hanged on 7 July 1827 at Hobart Gaol.
