Michael had Ticket of Leave 47/386 issued Windsor and TOL Passport 49/0053 dated 10 January 1849. Michael would acquire Australian nickname "Mickey Bad English".

Michael was convicted on 2 September 1851 at Maitland of rape Anne Milsorn on 10 May 1851 at Aberdeen near Scone NSW and. Sentenced to death.
