Title Trial papers of Margaret Barclay, late prisoner in the tolbooth of Paisley, for the crime of theft.
Dates 4 May 1827
Pled guilty. Found guilty in terms of confession. Sentenced to transportation beyond the seas for 14 years.
High Court of Justiciary. Western Circuit, Spring: Glasgow.
Ancestry Convict Indents:
Margaret Barclay was listed as 18 years old on arrival (listed as 16 at her trial).
Native Place: Paisley.
Occupation: Muslin sewer/house servant/all works.
Margaret was single, 5’2¾” tall, ruddy freckled complexion, brown hair, hazel eyes, MB:CT on right arm by her own statement.

1832: Married at Scots Church, Sydney. May have had 7 children, cannot pick them out on the NSW BDM.
