Joseph Baskett,
Tried at Surrey Special Session of Gaol delivery, 18 December 1826.
Sentenced to 14 years and transported on ASIA. Departure 25 July 1827 and arrived Van Dieman’s Land on 30 November 1827.
Assigned to Mr.R. Webber. Seen on the list of convicts for 1832, on the New South Wales and Tasmania, Australian Convict Musters,1806-1849. H.O. 10/48.
Joseph was granted a Pardon after serving 11years of his sentence (1838).
Observations: charged with two offences only, both merely requiring admonishments since his arrival and has produced favourable recommendations. Ancestry.com. New South Wales and Tasmania, Australia, Convict Pardons and Tickets of Leave, 1834-1859. H.O. 10/52.
Although I do have BASKETTs in my family line I am not aware of any family connection with Joseph Baskett.
