Michael was born about 1800 Dublin and was convicted at Dublin Ireland on 22 February 1827 of "manslaughter" and sentenced to 7 years transportation

Michael arrived Sydney aged 28 aboard Cambridge on 17 September 1827 with his Indent showing alias "Brown" , married with three children and trade "farmers man".

Michael with Richard Tunstile, Andrew Cullen & Patrick Corcoran were convicted on 18 Aug 1829 at Maitland of bushranging homes of William Forsyth & ABSparke & putting residents in fear.

All four were sentenced to death and hanged on 1 Sept 1829 Maitland.
