Edward was born about 1794 Birmingham and was tried and convicted at Warwick Assizes on 1 April 1817 and sentenced to 14 years transportation

Edward arrived Sydney aged about 24 aboard Batavia on 5 April 1818 with his Indent showing trade "gunsmith".

Edward together with William Taylor, Samuel James Ingley & Thomas Acton were all convicted on 6 July 1820 of break enter & steal from R Brooks of Sydney and sentenced to death
