John was tried and convicted at Salop Assizes of "horse stealing"and sentenced to life transportation

John arrived Sydney aged about 18 aboard John on 25 November 1827 with his Indent showing trade "iron founder". He would later acquire a nickname "kangaroo Jack"

John was murdered by Joseph Parker (Albion 1823) on 1 Sept 1829 at Bathurst NSW.
