Thomas was tried and convicted at Lincoln Assizes on 3 March 1832 of "steal silk handkerchief" and sentenced to 14 years transportation

Thomas arrived Sydney aged about 21 aboard Asia on 27 June 1833 with his Indent showing alias "Tattershall"
