Thomas was tried and convicted at Lincoln Assizes on 3 March 1832 of "steal silk handkerchief" and sentenced to 14 years transportation

Thomas arrived Sydney aged about 21 aboard Asia on 27 June 1833 with his Indent showing alias "Tattershall"

Thomas together with John Jenkins (Asia 1833) shot & murdered Dr Robert Wardell of Petersham on 7 Sept 1834.

Thomas &John were convicted of murder at Supreme Court on 6 November 1834 and sentenced to death.
