Biographies

Jew Boys Gang; This group stole and terrorised people as they moved about areas west of Newcastle (Maitland, Scone Dungog etc) till their actions led to the shooting murder of John Graham at Scone on 21 December 1840. John was a member of the gang along with George Wilkinson alias Edward Davis "Camden 1833", Robert Chitty "Sophia 1829", James Everett "Mangles 1833",John Marshall " Clyde 1832" & Richard Glanville " Lord Lyndock 1838". Authorities quickly formed and chased down the gang till they were all captured and bought to trial at Supreme Court on 24 February 1841. All were charged with bush ranging with John Shea charged murder and the others aid abet murder. All six were convicted and sentenced to death and hanged on 16 March 1841 in Sydney.
