James was convicted at Surrey Assizes on 29 March 1821 and entrenched to 7 years transportation, he arrived Tasmania aboard Richmond on 30 April 1822.

James Chamberlain and Samuel Thomas Fielding were hanged on 26 February 1825 at Hobart Gaol Tasmania.
