William was born about 1795 Hertford and was tried and convicted at Hertford Assizes on 21 July 1819 and sentenced to life transportation

William together with John Salt &'Ronald Peacock were convicted on 29 June 1829 of highway robbery on Benjamin Crew near Bargo NSW on 10 May 1829 and sentenced to death.
