Biographies

Born 1814 convicted at Middlesex Goal Delivery for house breaking 17/5/1832. transported to Tasmania (van Diemen's Land) for life left England 16/10/1832 arrived 1/2/1833. Granted pardon 1848. Held various licenses till holding original license for General Havelock Hotel on the corner of Shadforth and Adelaide Streets in St Giles (Hells Corner) Tasmania. Married Mary Clarke (born 1819) 27/7/1843 in Westbury Tasmania. Had 3 daughters and 3 sons Horatio Nelson (my great great grandfather), Henry and Fred. Died 26/1/1862 of influenza was listed as a licensed victualler at the time of his death.
