Biographies

George Newbury Barlow is my great-great-grandfather. Born at Staffordshire in 1808 he was convicted of assault in 1831 and sent to Australia for 14 years. His wife (Mary Ann Barlow, nee Manning) and children (at least one child John Newbury Barlow, possibly two others) followed him to Australia circa 1832. It appears George returned to England (possibly circa 1871) and died at Staffordshire in 1890. His wife and son (John) remained in Australia. Mary Ann died in the Hawkesbury area in 1890, John died at Enfield or St Marys in 1896.
