Jane DITCHFIELD was born about 1815 in Liverpool (?), Lancashire, England, United Kingdom and died after 1853 in Colony of New South Wales.
Noted events in her life were:
• Occupation ~ 1831 ~ Jane worked as a house servant.
• Court Appearance ~ October 1828 ~ Jane was tried at Quarter Sessions, Liverpool, Lancashire, England, she was charged with an act of felony, and was sentenced to 4 months imprisonment.
• Court Appearance ~ October 1829 ~ Jane was tried at Lancashire, England, she was charged with larceny , and was sentenced to imprisonment for 12 months.
• Convict details ~ 9 January 1832 ~ Jane was tried at the Liverpool Epiphany Sessions, Lancaster, Lancashire, England, she was sentenced to 14 years, for larceny.
• Convict details ~ 2 April 1832 ~ Jane was transported from Plymouth, Devon, England aboard the "Hydery".
• Convict details ~ 10 August 1832 ~ Jane was transported to Hobart, Colony of Van Diemen's Land aboard the "Hydery".

Jane married John CLARKE, son of Henry CLARKE and (Female) UNKNOWN, on 19 September 1838 in Launceston, Colony of Van Diemen's Land.
John was born about 1804 in England, United Kingdom and died on 16 January 1877 in Barbers Creek (near Murrumburrah), Colony of New South Wales about age 73.
They had six children: William, John, Elizabeth ("Betsy"), George, Mary, and Henry.
Jane Ditchfield (my great-great-great-grandmother) was born about 1815 in Lancashire, England, she died after 1953 in the Colony of New South Wales. She received her ticket-of-leave in 1844, and her certificate of freedom in 1846. Jane married John Clarke in 1838 in Launceston, Colony of Van Diemen's Land.
Jane was not the daughter of Samuel Ditchfield and Mary Thomason, or William Ditchfield and Hannah Higginson.
Jane did not die in 1871 at the Hyde Park Asylum in SydNey, NSW. That Jane Clarke was nee Honeysett, born 1814 in Sussex, England, she had married William Clarke in 1856 in Kurrajong, NSW.
