Edward was tried and convicted at Manchester Court Martial in 1831 of "desertion" and sentenced to 14 years transportation

Edward arrived Sydney aged about 27 aboard John on 8 June 1832 with his Indent showing former conviction of 200 lashes and trade "soldier,seaman"

Edward was convicted on 18 February 1834 of assault attempt murder his master Donald McIntyre at Hunter River on 27 November 1833.
