Born around 1801/1802 in Surrey, England.
In February 1822 he was convicted at the Old Baily, Middlesex, England of
Larceny, he was sentenced to Imprisonment (1 year & whipped)
On 13 July 1824, aged 23, he was charged and convicted at Surrey, England of stealing a watch and sentenced to 7 years. He was 5'6" with blue eyes & brown hair.
On 27 July 1824 he was aboard a UK Prison Hulks at Portsmouth, Hampshire, England.
On 15 April 1825 he was transported to New South Wales, Australia on board the ship, Norfolk arriving at Sydney Cove on 18 August 1825.
He obtained his Ticket of Leave on 28 December 1829.
Certificate of Freedom - on 13 July 1831 he was residinig in New South Wales. He's listed as a native of Surrey, born 1802, a labourer, 5'6" tall, Blue eyes & Dark brown hair
He married Janet Boyd on 1 March 1842 at St James, Melbourne, and had four children: Catherine Marrs (1842–1924), Mary Ann Marrs (1845–1847), Mary Ann Marrs (1847– ) & Stephen William Marrs (1847–1924)
In 1856 they lived in Morang, Whittlesea, East Bourke, Victoria, Australia
He was a carpenter and died at Yan Yean in Victoria, Australia in 1879.
