Daniel was assigned as a farm servant to W H Broughton Jnr at Burrowa NSW - now known as Boorowa. Daniel was issued his Ticket of Leave(41-449)11th February 1841. He was to remain in the Yass.

Daniel married Flora McGillis/Gillis (Scottish) 17th February 1845 by Banns Temporary Church, C of E Burrowa NSW. Daniel & Flora had 4 children:Thomas, Daniel (my grt grandfather),Fanny & John.

Daniel died (from exposure)1852 - 53 during the big floods of NSW. He was buried on "Bland Station" (near Quandialla & Wyalong). His grave is unmarked. Sarah Musgrave wrote about the event in

Sarah Musgrave wrote about the event in her book "The Wayback". Daniel is also mentioned in Helen V. Lloyd's book " Boorowa Over 160 Years Of White Settlement".
