George was born. About 1803 Bishopstoke Hampshire and christened 4Sept 1803 Parish Church Bishopstoke the first of ten children of Robert Callen &Elizabeth Harris

George was tried and convicted of robbery at Winchester Southampton on 3 Jan 1832 with notations recorded of a wife and four children & ploughman. He was sentenced to 14 years transportation

A marriage to Sarah Savage is identified in 1827 with children; Cordelia Harris 1828, George Harris 1828, Helen Harris 1831 & Frederick Harris 1832 (Note the christening names Harris not Callan)

George Callan arrived Sydney aboard Lady Harewood on 5 August 1832 with special note recorded as to his alias Robert Harris.

George was initially assigned Major General Stewart at Bathurst with a Ticket of Leave 38/1671 granted 16 Feb 1836, later Ticket of Leave Passports 42/144 dated 1 Feb 1842 & 43/48 dated 21 Jan 1843

George acquired his Certificate of Freedom 46/591 on 17 June 1846.

George died of "disease of the heart" on 2 May 1874 at home Durham Street Bathurst and was buried 4 May 1874 C of E Cemetery Bathurst NSW His death certificate shows him as "farmer & carrier".

George's widow Susan (who was much younger remarried 8 March 1885 in Albury NSW to James Duncan; Susan died 24 November 1920 & was buried 25 November 1920 RC Cemetery Bathurst NSw
