Abt. 1799. Birth. Dorking, Surrey, England

13 Sep 1820. Sarah Wright was tried and found guilty at the Old Bailey, London, of possession of forged bank notes, being a plea bargain from actually being originally arrested for uttering (knowingly passing on) forged notes. She was sentenced to transportation for 14 years.

7 Oct 1820. Birth of Daughter Hannah Wright (1820–1834) in Newgate Prison, London, England. (Another source lists Brixton rather than Newgate) ( Father was John Holder)

11 Sep 1822. Departure. Convict ship Lord Sidmouth departed Woolwich, England.

27 Feb 1823. Arrival on convict ship Lord Sidmouth at Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.

6 Oct 1823. Marriage Banns issued for Sarah Wright and James Funnell. Contained within letters of correspondence to the Colonial Secretary, signed by the chaplain of Liverpool, the Reverend Robert Cartwright. Liverpool, New South Wales, Australia.

8 Dec 1823. Marriage to James Funnell (1796–1839) at St Lukes Church, Liverpool, New South Wales, Australia.

1824 - 1838. Sarah and James had 10 children while living in the Cobbity area. Ann (1824-1824), William (1825-1900), Mary (1826-1907), Charlotte (1828-1899), James (1830-1918), John (1831-1917), Thomas (1833-1904), Sarah Jane (1835-1918), Susannah (1836-1894) and Luke (Louis) (1838-1906)

21 Jul 1835. Certificate of Freedom. Published in the Government Gazette on 22 July 1835, Sarah Wright was issued a Certificate of Freedom on 21 July 1835.

26 Dec 1840. Marriage to Joseph Cardy at Campbelltown, New South Wales.
