Biographies

At the age of 15, he was caught and convicted of stealing bank notes and money in a shop. Sentenced to death but transported for life on 26 March 1807. Transferred to the "Hulk" at Portsmouth 4th April 1807. Sailed on the 'Admiral Gambier" 2 July 1808.
Old Bailey, First Middlesex jury, before Mr. Justice Lawrence Jan 14, 1807. James Charles Mostyn was a convict onboard the "Admiral Gambier" under the name of James Butler. Dec 20, 1808.
