Biographies

Born 21st March, 1773 in Bisley Stroud to Aaron Peglar and Betty Rogers, Ann White, nee Peglar, married Joseph White (c.1776-1816) on 9/1/1794. She was tried at Gloucester Assizes in March 1811 and transported to NSW on "Minstrel" with a life sentence. She married Elijah LANE at Parramatta in 1813 who died in 1826. In 1828, she married Joseph STUBBS at Richmond. Ann died at Richmond in 1840, aged 54 (probably lied about age, actually about 67). She had a son, Joseph White (1795-1860) who was her accomplice in various crimes which included sheep stealing and taking hay. Her son was convicted when he was 14 and transported to NSW in 1820 where he lived with his father-in-law, Elijah Lane and mother.
