Biographies

James KERWICK was born 1798 in Ballytarsna, Tipperary, one of 10 children of Daniel Kerwick and Margaret Brien.

Two brothers Edward & Michael were transported in 1829 via Eliza and James soon followed, arriving on the convict ship Portland in 1833. Another brother died in Spike Island prison awaiting transportation.

Some 15 years later his wife migrated with her children, their spouses and grandchildren and settled in the Kelso area.

James died in 1855 and is buried at St Michael's, KELSO. NSW
