Biographies
Charles BOOTH was born 1786 at North Wheatley in Nottinghamshire.
He was one of 17 people arrested and sentenced when a forged note was found in a pub. He was tried in York and transported in 1817 via Larkins.
He was assigned to George Palmer, son of John Palmer, the purser on the Sirius. He crossed the Blue Mountains in 1819 looking for grazing land for cattle. He became friends with the government surveyor Sir Thomas Mitchell.
So after obtaining his Certificate of Freedom he became the original settler of Millthorpe with a grant of 1000 acres.
His son and daughter migrated around 1841 and found their father.
Charles Booth died in 1851
