Biographies

Anthony Rope(c1755-1843), the eighth and youngest child of John Rope(c1710-1785) and Ann Curtis(c1715-1760), is my five times Great Grandfather. He was convicted of theft in 1785 and transported to Botany Bay Colony in 1787/88 aboard the "Alexander".
Anthony married fellow convict Elizabeth Powley(c1761-1737) at Sydney Cove on May 19, 1788.
Anthony and Elizabeth had eight children, Robert(1788-1835), Mary(1790-1872), Elizabeth(1794-1806), John(1795-1845), Sarah(1798-1882), Susannah(1800-1883), William(1805-1833), Elizabeth Ann(1808-1889).
I am descended from Anthony and Elizabeth via Mary.
