Baptism on 15-Apr-1830 at St Paul's Norwich - whereas 1841 census gives year of birth as 1828
Another contributor wrote that death certificate was from 1926 but also gives the date 19-Dec-1921

When married in 1862 : "Gold digger"

Samuel Barker was convicted of theft (with other teenage accomplices) of a looking glass, books, glasses etc. (from Lakenham church) at Norwich Quarter Sessions 12 July 1848 when he gave his age as 17 years.
He was sentenced to be transported for seven years and sent to Van Diemens Land (Tasmania) on the ship "Rodney" in the company of one of his accomplices, one Robert Adlam, also 17.
The ship departed Portland, Dorset on the 23rd of August (with 312 male convicts on board) and arrived in Hobart on the 28th November 1850. The ship's records give his age as 25.
